If you were born left-handed, you can call it either a curse or a blessing in disguise.

From having to have custom-built school desks and chairs to having to buy left-handed golf club sets, it seems that being a southpaw can be such a bother!

However, over the years, it seems like more and more people are born left-handed. Just look in the sports arena.

Baseball has quite a few more lefties swinging their bats.

It is very important that you take your time shopping for the perfect left-handed golf club set that will be sure to fit all of your needs.

Lower Demand for Left Handed Golf Club Sets

Most of the major golf club companies like Mizuno, Callaway, and Nike really make both left- and right handed golf club sets.

Since there is not that much of a demand for left-handed golf club sets, there are not too many of them in the market today

Does it cost more to be a left-handed golfer?

Even though the demand for a left-handed golf club set is less, it is really not that much more expensive than a right-handed golf club set.

Custom Designed Golf Clubs

If you want to be able to be like a right-handed golfer, you can get left-handed golf club sets that may be designed and custom made for the individual.

In order to get custom-made left-handed golf clubs, you need to have is the golfer’s height and weight, gender and the distance from the wrist to the floor.

In order to make changes to the left-hander’s golf clubs, you will have to take these things into consideration: age, speed of swing, handicap, and what is being used on the 150-yard mark.

Custom-made left-handed golf club sets are more expensive but it can be worth the money for the enjoyment of the game.

Usually the appropriate golf club set can improve a golfer's game keep him out of the bunkers and get him back to clubhouse in a better mood to met up with his right handed friends.

Jim Furyk's Left Handed Golf Swing

Many players decide to take up the game of golf, so they think right away that they have to buy a new set of clubs.

Lefties will find that this game requires work and skills that they do not have and do not wish to learn.

If you are thinking that some big names in the golfing industry are left handed, then you would be right on the mark!

It would be a good idea to keep your eyes peeled for garage sales.

If you cannot seem to part with those dusty golf club sets gathering dust in the corner then your wife will not find it hard at all to put them out on your garage sale!

An integral part of the game of golf is good equipment.

A southpaw should keep in mind that he should not try to play a game of golf right handed due to the fact that it is not easy to find clubs for the left-handed person.

You should wait to get just the right equipment rather than compromise the way you play.

A person who is naturally left handed will never be able to achieve the perfection in the game of gold by playing right-handed.

Golf Technique Same for Left-Handed Players

The same basic technique for playing the game of golf is relatively the same no matter if you are right or left handed.

Your grip on the club should not be too loose or too tight.

Your stance should be square with your feet parallel to the target line.

The shoulders as well as the hips and the thighs should be square with your feet parallel to the target line.

If you happen to want to slice the ball, the swingpath should be from the inside to the outside.

If you want to hook the ball then the swingpath should be from the outside to the inside.

Good luck in your golf game!

Great hub. The first day we put a club in my sons hand he hit both RH and LH irons. All shots were terrible the 1st time. The local pro said what feels better and he said from the left, so he became a LH'ed player ... eventually got his handicap to the + side below scratch. Sure getting the right equipment wasn't easy, it just took 10 years to finalize his bag of sticks. A lot is made in LH now so there is no reason to switch a player from left to right. Also depends on their dominant eye. If right eye dominant might be better to play LH'ed.

Left-Handed Golfers on the PGA Tour

If you are thinking that some big names in the golfing industry are left handed, then you would be right on the mark!

Mike Weir, from Canada, was the first left-handed golfer to win the US Masters.

Phil Mickelson, from the US has captured at least one victory on the PGA Tour in every full season as a professional (except in 1999, the year his daughter was born). The height of his career so far has been his win of the US Masters at Augusta in 2004.

There are six left-handed men currently on The Tour. Top left-handed lady golfers are still very rare though and there are none currently on the LPGA Tour.

    • Cobra S3 Irons Review

Accurate, consistent and stylish pretty much sum up Cobra S3 irons. I heard these clubs have the ability to help with distance, so I figured I’d give them a fair shake to win me over. Although their design may be a little flashy for my taste, I’ve learned to never judge a book by its cover. Just because it looks young and fun doesn’t mean it won’t deliver veteran-worthy performance, right? Well, I never thought Cobra would become a club of choice for me, but I can definitely say I’m pleasantly surprised and impressed by these irons. For a forged club, the ball comes off the face pretty hot, and I like it! They’re smooth and when you make contact, the ball in flight is definitely a thing of beauty. So, my first demo out with the Cobra S3 irons, I found myself hitting purer shots and ultimately taking more risks with confidence. In fact, they didn’t seem like risks, after all! I simply felt like I graduated to another level. Appearance I know I’ve complained about the looks of the irons but in all fairness, it’s really only the yellow markings on the ones I was playing with that [...] - 5 weeks ago

    • Taylormade Burner Superfast 2.0 Driver Review

Introduction There is a wise quote in the American military that says, “Talent is hitting a target no one else can hit; genius is hitting a target no one else can see”. Just like in the military where the weapon greatly determines the accuracy and power you can generate, in golf too, a lot depends on the club or driver being used. Being able to hit the target requires a considerable amount of calculation, precision, balance, and power. Not all drivers can deliver all of these and where a particular club delivers on power, it will compromise on stability and vice versa. Therefore, choosing the appropriate golf driver for the game is as crucial as choosing the right weapon for a war. This is especially true in the case of international tours. Technical Specifications TaylorMade knows its products well, delivering smarter and more innovative products to ardent golf enthusiasts. The Superfast series of drivers have set the bar pretty high with the highly refined SuperFast technology being the spearheading factor in its drive to innovation. A lighter driver also means faster swing speed and a greater distance traveled. In all, the following are the key features of the TaylorMade Burner [...] - 5 weeks ago
